Magnolia Hillside Garden

Inspired by the historic garden

designs of Gertrude Gekyll.

The romantic style of this intricately designed garden is layered with texture and color. Failing brick walls and steps original to the house were stabilized and new stone walls were designed to give structure and support to the hillside. Gravel paths and bluestone terraces form the fabric of the garden floors. Boxwood hedging and flowering deciduous trees provide the framework for the winter garden. The graceful architecture is sensitively echoed in the formality and design of all aspects of this lovely garden. This is gardeners garden filled with interest, color and fragrance from spring through winter.
